the “Casa Patio” project stems from the desire to create a home in which the rooms face a centrally located patio: it serves both as a catalyst for light from the roof and as a distribution hub to reach the various rooms of the house. Rooted precisely in the atrium of the Roman Domus, the concept of the hallway was revisited by making it an additional lived-in environment of the house: in this case it becomes a “green” area in which to place tree essences. An added value is constituted by the interaction between the different volumes: the turret and the porch give movement to the house while keeping firmly clear the relationship with the countryside in which it will be inserted by recalling the values of rural architectural tradition through the forms and materials.
